Before you convert
What this will not do
The result is a PowerPoint draft to review and finish. These are the things the conversion will not do, so there are no surprises after you pay.
It does not write or rewrite your slides
Wording, numbers and slide count stay as they are. Crowded slides are not split, and there is no new storyline.
A smaller slide size can leave text small
A 16:9 deck in a Letter or 4:3 template is placed, but dense slides may stay at about 7–9 pt. Content already fills its cards, so the words cannot grow without being reworked by hand.
Some charts remain pictures
Mekko, Gantt, waterfall and other add-in charts are not restyled. A chart Gemini cannot read in full, or that is not a supported bar, column, pie, donut or line, stays a picture. Charts and tables inside groups are redrawn from the page, not copied as live objects.
Grouped objects, comments, video and sound
Objects inside a PowerPoint group are read from the page. Slide comments do not carry over. Videos will not play, sound is left out, and an embedded file such as an Excel sheet becomes a picture. Animations and slide transitions do not carry over. Speaker notes and hidden slides from a PowerPoint do.
Handwriting, scans and picture slides
A slide that is one picture stays a picture unless you choose the rebuild beta. Rebuild reads the layout with AI and checks every word with a second, offline reader. If the first picture slide cannot be rebuilt, the rest of that deck's picture slides are kept as pictures. Handwriting and busy scans often fail that check. The rebuild only turns into editable text, tables and charts what it can read clearly. On a blurry, low-resolution or very busy picture, words it can't read surely, and the tables, charts and text boxes that hold them, remain part of the picture, so nothing is guessed. For more editable content, upload the original PowerPoint or a sharp PDF export.
The old deck's decoration is left out
Logos, footers, page numbers and master design from the old deck are removed so the client's template can show. Legal notices stay as small print. Everything left out is listed on the review page.
Not a live file in PowerPoint, and not on your laptop
The conversion runs in Google Cloud's Singapore region, not inside PowerPoint on your computer. A Google Slides deck chosen from Google Drive comes back as PowerPoint, not as Google Slides. Single sign-on, an on-premise copy and SOC 2 are not offered.
How files are handled, who can open them, and how AI is used is on Privacy and security. Organisations that need a data processing agreement can email the founder. We do not claim SOC 2.
Still the right tool?
Upload a deck and see the slide count and picture count before any credit is used.
