Tips for better results
A few things that make your converted deck closer to ready to send.
Before you upload
Use the original PowerPoint when you can
It lets us carry over speaker notes and hidden slides. Export Google Slides as PowerPoint first.
If you only have a PDF, use one saved from PowerPoint
Use "Save as PDF" or "Export" rather than a scan or a printed copy. When a PDF or a PowerPoint is mostly pictures, we tell you before converting, and you choose whether to keep them as pictures or try rebuilding them with the beta. Check each rebuilt slide.
Remove passwords and protection
Files with a password, copy restrictions or rights management are refused before any credit is used. Ask the owner for an unprotected copy.
Leave the old logos and footers in
You don't need to clean up the old deck. Logos, footers, page numbers and decoration from the old design are usually left out automatically, and everything left out is listed on the review page.
Mind the size
Decks can have up to 120 slides and 50 MB. Split bigger decks and convert each part.
Templates and brand
Use the client's real template, with a few example slides
We take the title style, colours, fonts and slide size from the template. When its example slides show a subtitle line, a heading bar or a bullet style on two or more slides, we use those too.
Upload font files you're allowed to share
For your own brand, upload heading and body font files whose licence lets you embed them in documents you share. Otherwise a standard font is used and named on the review page.
Charts and content
Print the numbers on your charts
A bar, column, pie, donut or line chart picture comes back as a real PowerPoint chart you can edit when every bar, slice or line point has its number printed and the numbers match the picture. Other chart pictures stay sharp pictures. Up to 24 chart pictures are read per deck.
Lighter slides convert better
Every slide keeps its own layout and is scaled into the template. Very crowded slides can end up with smaller text. The review page suggests where a slide is crowded or its text is small; nothing is changed for you.
After converting
Check the marked slides first
"Needs a look" on the review page takes you straight to the slides worth checking, with the reason for each, next to the original.
Try another template for free
Each delivered conversion that used credits can be converted again once within 24 hours at no cost, for example into a different template.
Ask the founder to check it
From the review page, the founder can go through every slide, rebuild by hand what the automatic placement couldn't, and send the deck back within 1 working day for one credit per 30 slides of the deck, even if it was a free re-run.
