Rebuild slides that are pictures (beta)

When a deck has slides that are only pictures (a PDF of scanned or flattened pages, or slides with a pasted picture), the convert page asks what to do with them: keep them as pictures or try rebuilding them. You must choose only when most of the deck is pictures.

When the option appears — for a PDF whose pages are pictures, or a PowerPoint whose slides are pasted pictures — you can keep them as pictures or try rebuilding them with the beta. It uses AI to read the layout and a separate text reader to check the words. Some content remains pictures, and some details may be missed. Review every rebuilt slide. The original PowerPoint with real text is the better starting point when available.

If the first picture slide can't be rebuilt, the rest of that deck's picture slides are kept as pictures.
